Master Instructor:
Sean "The Silverback" Stoopman: For the past 20 years Sean has studied traditional and modern martial arts, everything from Judo, Brazilian jiu jitsu, hapkido, Krav Maga, Muay Thai Kickboxing, JKD and Kali and various other unarmed and armed combat systems . Sean teaches out of Silverback Academy in Fairfax, VA catering to everyone from law enforcement, military and civilians. Our programs teach men and women of all ages how to defended and protect themselves in real life situations, as well as giving people a way to get in shape, and advance their training. Sean regularly does group classes, private and corporate training, law enforcement military and security training and consulting.

Adam Munzing: Adam has been studying with Sean Stoopman beginning in the summer of 2008. Adam follows Sean's style with a highly technical approach to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with a very active tight open guard game. Adam is currently a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue belt, a Yellow Belt in Freestyle Kickboxing an Orange Belt in Krav Maga an Assistant instructor in IKI Krav Maga, a Phase one Combat Ground Fighting Instructor and an Apprentice Instructor in Paul Vunak's Contemporary Jeet Kune Do

Grant Cole: Formerly a wrestling coach Grant is an excellent fitness coach and using his wrestling background has adapted to a very well to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and tested for his blue belt in August 2011. Multiple Time gold medalist in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission wrestling as well as an Orange Belt in Krav Maga, and a Orange Belt in Freestyle Kickboxing, Grant teaches the Krav Fit classes as well as our assists with our wrestling drills classes.

John “Tisch”
has been studying Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Sean Stoopman
since September of 2009. With some previous martial arts
experience before coming a student of Silverback Academy, Tisch
currently holds a Green Belt in Krav Maga, a Yellow Belt in Freestyle
Kickboxing and has multiple gold medal
finishes in submission grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In
addition to being an assistant IKI Krav Maga instructor, Tisch is also
Director of Memberships for Silverback Academy.

Randy Kline: Former member of Team USA, Randy wrestled in Colorado, Illinois and Virginia for the last 12 years with medals in Freestyle and Folkstyle wrestling and a former youth wrestling coach. Randy heads up the wrestling program at Silverback Academy on Mondays and Saturdays. Randy Additionally holds a Yellow Belt in Krav Maga and competes in submission wresting with Silverback Academy.
