About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian JiuJitsu (BJJ) is based upon the well-documented fact that over 90% of street fights will end up on the ground. The specifically designed techniques of BJJ allow you to control your opponent, whether on your feet, or the ground, and decide the outcome of a physical altercation. BJJ can give you the tools to increase your chances of skillfully escaping life-threatening situations, with minimal damage. BJJ places great emphasis on controlling a situation, gaining dominate positions so that you can strike, apply various joint locks, chokes, or escape, without having to rely on brute strength. The techniques of this wonderful martial art will allow a smaller yet more skilled opponent to dominate a stronger attacker, if the need arises

About Krav Maga
Krav Maga was developed in the late 1940s by Imi Lichtenfeld, following his immigration to Israel, where he began to provide hand to hand combat training for what was to become the Israeli Defense Forces; developing the techniques that became known as Krav Maga which in Hebrew means “contact combat”. It has since been refined for both civilian and military applications. Unlike most martial arts, Krav Maga is essentially a tactical defense skill, with its philosophy emphasizing threat neutralization, simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers, and aggressive endurance in a do or die context. Krav Maga is still used by the IDF and related variations have been developed for Israeli and US law enforcement as well as the United States Military.
